Being engaged and preparing for marriage are such sweet milestones in life! We always talk about how much fun it is to be a part of them… so naturally we were thrilled when we got the email from Michael and the details about his proposal! We were nervous leading up to the day because it was storming on and off all week! It seemed like all we did was watch the forecast…but what Michael was about to do, the weather wouldn’t have stopped him!

Michael surprised Lori and proposed on their trip to Destin visiting his parents! Michael’s dad and I (an insurance inspector to Lori) were assessing wood rot when the couple arrived {at twenty-seven weeks pregnant and with a huge lens on my camera, I’m not sure how convincing I was! But, we did our best!} I waited until the two made their way to the dock and then got in position– not wanting to miss a moment! Michael and Lori had a few moments on the dock together before he pulled out the ring his dad had hidden and knelt down on one knee…and… she said YES! Michael really outdid himself because not only did he plan this surprise, dockside proposal, but he invited their close family and friends to surprise Lori as well with an engagement party to follow! How sweet is he? Their friends and family from all over were upstairs waiting to celebrate with the happy couple!! I loved seeing Michael and Lori’s joy and their family’s excitement about these two tying the knot!
