It wasn’t quite officially Autumn yet, but it sure did look and feel like it. The rusty-colored leaves had fallen the week prior to the wedding and there was a cool breeze in the air. We drove seven hours from the scorching heat and humidity of 80+ degrees in Florida to a cool 65 degrees in the North Georgia Mountains.
Because Collean traveled on a cruise after getting engaged, we weren’t able to do their engagement photos. We love being able to if possible so we get to know the couple better! All this to say, as soon as we met Matthew to begin photographing the groomsmen getting ready, they all started speaking with an accent…which you can only imagine how off-guard that threw us! 🙂 Boys will be boys, right? To our surprise, they weren’t fooling around! Matthew is from England and his groomsmen traveled all that way just to stand by his side in support of Matthew + Collean’s marriage. That goes to show you Matthew’s character by having friends who love him so much!
There were so many small details in this wedding that tied the whole day together. And oh, friends, let us tell you how much details make photographer hearts burst with happiness! The venue alone was stunning, but then when we saw it all come together on the wedding day, we were just blown away! Deep South Farm in Ellijay, Georgia had the most welcoming and cheerful staff that we had the pleasure of working with. Sisters who each have incredible talents came together and started this venue just over a year ago! The thought, planning, and effort put into the details of this wedding were so special. It wasn’t just the look of the details — but the sentiment behind them. Between the blush wedding gown hand-made by Collean’s mother, the bridesmaids all being sisters of the bride, Matthew’s tie borrowed from his now-FIL, the groomsmen speeches all including stories of Matthew’s father who passed away, you can see how highly they respect their family.
Matthew + Collean are the type of people that will be your best friends immediately after meeting. He can say anything to make her laugh. She can do anything to make him smile. And when they’re together, you’ll catch yourself saying, “Aww!” too many times. They are so sweet and made us feel so comfortable right from the beginning! Although they think they are not photogenic and major goofs, we completely disagree and think they are EXTREMELY beautiful and easy to photograph. So, thank YOU for making our jobs easy! 🙂
Cheers to new beginnings and a lifetime of love!
