There is a clear understanding of one another if you’re around Tony and Laura. He gets her. She gets him. Tony was born in the ancient city of Kutaisi, Georgia growing up with a fierce love for his family. After moving from Georgia to Russia and picking up the language (and accent!), his family moved to the United States. Over time he mastered the English language, but held onto his Russian accent. On the first day of orientation at MSK, Tony locked eyes with Laura…and heard quite a different accent. Laura was born and raised in a quaint town in Alabama. You can imagine the difference in accents. 🙂 I can’t help but smile as I write this.

One thing we loved about their wedding weekend is that it was truly a celebration of not just their love for each other, but the family integration. It was really special to see two families of completely different backgrounds celebrate a union — and they all embraced each other with joy! Throughout their day were many details of their backgrounds, and one of our favorites was Tony and Laura’s first dance! They broke into a Russian dance that surprised everyone!

Our first time meeting in person was during their engagement session and it was one for the books. I’m not sure that we’ve ever laughed so hard consistently with two strangers. By the end of our session, it felt like we’d known them for a while. There’s something special about these two! If you could’ve heard the things their friends and family were saying during their rehearsal dinner, you’d get a really good idea of how genuine, kind, and humble they are.

So here’s to Tony + Laura! May you always remember your love for each other and pursue each other daily. Marriage is a really sweet gift!
